We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Baptism during all three of our worship services five times each year:

  • The first Sunday after January 6th

  • The Easter Vigil

  • The Day of Pentecost (50 days after Easter)

  • The first Sunday in November (All Saints’ Day)

  • One Sunday during the summer or fall which is determined based upon requests and pastoral needs.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which we reaffirm our baptismal vows and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayers and the laying on of hands by the Bishop. The Rite of Confirmation is described in The Book of Common Prayer as “the mature reaffirmation of baptismal vows.”  Confirmation is an opportunity to explore your identity as a Christian, and to expand your involvement in our parish and the wider church.

Confirmation is offered every other year, in conjunction with the Bishop’s visit to St. Paul’s. Preparatory classes are held in advance of the Bishop’s visit for those wishing to be confirmed, re-affirmed, or received into the Episcopal church. These classes explore some of the central principles of Christian faith and how we practice our faith in the Episcopal Church and at St. Paul’s.

For more information about confirmation, please contact the church office: 434-295-2156 or office@spmcuva.org.
