Welcome to St. Paul’s Memorial Church at the University of Virginia

Whether you’re a committed parishioner or a curious visitor, you are always welcome at St. Paul’s. All of our fellowship and ministry begins in worship. When we gather in prayer and song with whoever happens to show up—young and old, from nearby and far away, deeply Christian and deeply uncertain—we catch glimpses of the community God calls the Church to be. We hope you’ll want to show up and catch a glimpse of that community at St. Paul’s!

All people are welcome at our church, regardless of any connection with this or any other church or religious tradition. To learn more about our life and ministries, and how we seek to live out our Christian faith as a parish of the Episcopal Church, please explore this website and/or contact the church office to arrange a time to speak with a clergy member: 434-295-2156 or office@spmcuva.org.

Our Mission

The mission of St. Paul’s Memorial Church is to celebrate and bear witness to God’s love in our community, the University of Virginia, the region, and the world beyond us. By our worship, teaching, and our outreach we seek to make known God in Christ, equipping our members for service in the world.

Who we are

We are hundreds of individuals, couples, and families. Some of us are lifelong Episcopalians, some of us were raised in other Christian traditions, and some of us are just beginning to explore Christian faith. We are young and old, town and gown, rich and poor, gay and straight. Some of us live within walking distance, and some of us live miles out of town.

Together, we are a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia (thediocese.net) and the Episcopal Church (episcopalchurch.org), and we are part of the global fellowship known as the Anglican Communion (anglicancommunion.org).

For more information or to arrange a time to speak with a clergy member, please contact the church office at 434-295-2156 or office@spmcuva.org.
