Heather Annis
Heather’s role at St. Paul’s is to facilitate and nurture the growth of faith, community, and service among people of all ages. She is responsible for the design and implementation of Christian-formation programming, including education, service, and fellowship, for children and youth from birth through high school.
A lifelong Episcopalian, Heather has been working with young people for over twenty years, having served previously at St. Martin’s in Providence, RI; St. Paul’s in Pawtucket, RI ;and most recently, St. John’s in Barrington, RI. She holds a Masters degree in Theology & the Arts from Andover Newton Theological School, and is the author of The Book of Comic Prayer: Using Art and Humor to Transform Youth Ministry.
A practicing artist, Heather has traveled extensively presenting workshops on using the arts to enrich formation, prayer, and worship. Her drawings and small-scale works have appeared in a variety of exhibits; she also works large, creating commissioned murals on any surface available. In addition to art and formation, she is passionate about the beach, junk food, cartoons, and anything that generally appeals to the average 8-year old. She lives in Afton with her partner, Kelly Garrett, and their two cats, Chloe and Junebug.
